Coordinate old-appliance removal with the installer before setting a delivery date. Built-in equipment may need electrical, gas, plumbing, or cabinet work before it is ready to leave the kitchen.
Give each task an owner
| Task | Confirm before pickup |
|---|---|
| Disconnect | Which qualified trade handles utilities? |
| Release | Who removes cabinet fixings or frees the built-in unit? |
| Carry | Which route will the removal team use? |
| Install | When does the replacement installer need the space? |
Describe the appliance precisely
For a dishwasher, say whether it is still under the counter and connected. For an oven, identify a freestanding range, slide-in range, or wall oven. Mention gas or hardwired equipment and any finish surfaces that limit access.
Leave room for the handoff
Ask the installer when the old unit will be ready, then agree the removal window. Tell both providers about building access hours, parking, and the location of the new appliance so the two jobs do not obstruct each other.
For cooking appliances, also review oven and stove removal.
Review dishwasher removal and prepare the details for your estimate.
